Installation, Warranty & Care

HG Printing & Graphics LLC — Installation, Removal, Warranty & Care Terms, version HG-INSTALL-2026-10-25-R3.

These terms apply to new quotes issued with this version for HG-installed vinyl graphics, wraps, lettering and perforated vinyl, and vinyl removal. They include vehicles, trailers, boats, and storefront windows and doors. Existing agreements remain governed by their accepted terms. Supply-only graphics do not include HG installation coverage.

Before payment and before work starts

Review these terms and your job-specific quote before paying. After payment, HG requires separate written authorization identifying your HG work-order number, approved scope, surface disclosures and this terms version. Payment, artwork approval and silence do not constitute installation/removal authorization. Work requiring this authorization stays on hold until an authorized customer representative signs or explicitly accepts the job-specific terms. Contact HG if you need a paper copy or clarification.

If you decline after payment and before any separately authorized work or nonreturnable purchase, HG will cancel and refund the unperformed work. Any deduction must relate to costs specifically disclosed and separately authorized before they were incurred; no new cancellation charge is imposed by these terms. A change in scope, materials or newly discovered surface risk requires written approval before additional work proceeds.

Condition and surface risks

HG documents accessible surfaces before work. Tell us about repainting, body repairs, failing clear coat, rust, fillers, coatings, damaged glass, window films and prior graphics. Vinyl installation and removal may reveal or disturb weak paint, coatings, adhesives or previously concealed damage. Old or deteriorated vinyl may require additional removal time and may leave residue, staining or uneven fading. HG cannot promise restoration to an original or like-new surface. HG will stop and obtain approval for material changes in risk, scope or cost.

For storefront windows and doors, disclose glass type, tint, films, coatings, seals, scratches and cracks. Film suitability and thermal-stress risk depend on the glazing and product combination. HG may require glass specifications or decline an unsuitable application. Graphics do not strengthen glass or guarantee against existing defects, breakage or seal failure. These disclosures do not release HG from responsibility for covered workmanship or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Installation on compromised paint or clear coat

Repairing failing paint or clear coat before installation is recommended. HG may nevertheless agree to proceed when Mike/Jenn determines the job is practical and the customer separately approves a documented surface-condition exception. Customer approval does not oblige HG to accept an unsuitable job.

The job-specific record must identify the affected panels, observed conditions and dated photographs before work. Where known, disclose this exception with the quote before payment. If discovered later, stop the affected work, explain the options and obtain separate approval before testing, preparation or installation. Obtain permission before an adhesion/removal test that could disturb weak paint. A satisfactory test does not guarantee adhesion elsewhere or prevent later damage.

Surface-condition acknowledgment: HG has identified paint/clear-coat deterioration on the panels listed in the job-specific exception. The customer elects to proceed despite the recommendation to repair those surfaces first. The customer understands that graphics may lift, peel, bubble, show underlying imperfections or fail prematurely, and that preparation, installation, repositioning or removal may cause additional paint/clear-coat separation. No minimum adhesion or service life is promised for failure caused by these documented conditions.

Failures and damage caused by the documented underlying surface conditions are excluded from HG's workmanship warranty for the affected areas. Manufacturer coverage may also be unavailable under its written terms. HG remains responsible for separately covered workmanship defects and rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. This exception does not automatically void coverage on other panels. A follow-up inspection does not remove the documented surface-condition exclusion.

Replacement graphics, additional preparation and repeat installation resulting from these surface conditions require a separately approved charge. HG may stop if conditions make the agreed work impractical and will obtain approval before changing the scope or price.

Separate customer confirmation required: “I have reviewed the identified panels, condition report and photographs. I understand the additional adhesion, appearance, service-life and paint/clear-coat damage risks, accept the surface-condition exception, and authorize HG to proceed on those areas.” Record the customer's name, authority, date, HG order number and exact terms/condition-report version. This acknowledgment must be affirmative and separate from general artwork or installation approval.

HG limited workmanship warranty

HG covers installation defects caused by its workmanship, including attributable edge lifting, peeling or trapped-air defects. HG will inspect a reported concern and repair or replace the affected graphics as reasonably needed to correct a covered defect at no charge. Coverage begins on the original installation-completion date; a repair does not restart the period. Removal-only services do not create a new graphics warranty.

  • Vehicles, trailers and boats: 90 days of workmanship coverage, extended to a total of 12 months from the original installation date after the required free follow-up inspection. Schedule the inspection at delivery for 7–14 days after installation and complete it within 30 calendar days. Contact HG before the deadline if you need an extension; HG will provide a reasonable written extension when scheduling or access requires it. Missing the inspection forfeits the voluntary extension, not the initial 90-day coverage, any applicable manufacturer coverage or nonwaivable rights. Timely reported defects are not denied merely because a repair appointment occurs later.
  • Storefront windows and doors: 12 months of workmanship coverage from the original installation date. No routine follow-up inspection is required. HG may reasonably inspect a reported warranty issue at the installation site.

The free vehicle inspection checks edges, seams, recesses and other installation details. Covered corrections are free; an outstanding covered repair does not prevent an otherwise timely inspection from qualifying. Report problems immediately rather than waiting for this appointment.

Manufacturer material warranty: what the advertised years mean

HG's workmanship warranty and the manufacturer's material warranty are separate. An advertised three-, five- or seven-year period is not a promise that every graphic or every surface will remain like new for that entire period. Expected outdoor durability describes anticipated performance under specified conditions; it is not, by itself, a warranty.

Any manufacturer warranty is governed by that manufacturer's written terms for the exact film, laminate, ink system and application. Eligibility and duration may vary with climate, vertical versus horizontal exposure (such as doors versus hoods and roofs), substrate condition, installation, maintenance and other stated requirements. Perforated window films, storefront glass, marine applications, customer-supplied materials and specialty finishes may have different coverage or may be excluded under the applicable manufacturer terms. Your quote must identify the materials and applicable written coverage before payment; no generic duration overrides those terms.

If a material defect is suspected, HG will help document and submit an eligible claim. The manufacturer determines claim eligibility and its remedy under its written warranty. HG does not guarantee claim approval or promise to assume a manufacturer's obligations. Depending on the applicable terms, a remedy may be replacement material, a prorated credit or another specified remedy. Removal, disposal, design, reprinting, travel and installation labor are included only when the applicable warranty expressly covers those costs or HG separately agrees in writing.

A denied material claim does not, by itself, eliminate HG's responsibility for a separately covered workmanship defect. Nothing in this section limits rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded. Contact HG promptly when you notice a problem, provide your HG number and photographs, retain the affected graphics for inspection when reasonably possible, and do not authorize removal or repairs before HG can assess the concern. HG retains available material batch/lot records, installation photographs and job details to support claims. Ask for a copy of the manufacturer's applicable written warranty before paying.

Workmanship exclusions

HG workmanship coverage excludes damage caused by collisions, abrasion, vandalism, improper cleaning, chemicals, pressure washing, modifications or third-party repairs; ordinary weathering or fading; and failure originating in unsuitable or deteriorated paint, glass, coatings or substrate rather than HG workmanship. Customer-supplied materials require a written suitability assessment and job-specific material limitations; they do not automatically eliminate HG responsibility for its workmanship. Coverage does not promise invisible seams, coverage of intentionally unwrapped gaps, exact screen-to-print color, or correction of underlying body/glass defects. Any special limitation must be disclosed before payment. Nothing here eliminates manufacturer obligations or customer rights that cannot legally be waived.

Care instructions

  • Allow at least 72 hours before washing, or longer if the job-specific material instructions require it. Follow HG's written guidance for your product and installation.
  • Hand wash gently on a cool surface in shade with mild nonabrasive soap, clean water and a soft cloth. Rinse and dry carefully. Avoid brush washes, abrasive pads, harsh solvents, scraping and direct pressure at edges, seams or perforations.
  • Remove bird droppings, fuel and other contamination promptly using a method approved for the film. Do not wax matte or specialty finishes unless approved for that material.
  • For window and door graphics, use a soft cloth and compatible mild cleaner; do not use blades or scrape printed areas or edges. Do not apply incompatible films, signs or adhesives over the graphics.
  • If lifting, bubbling or damage appears, stop picking, cutting, heating or attempting repairs. Contact HG promptly with photographs and your HG number. Use professional removal, especially for aged graphics.

Requesting service

Email info@hg-printing.com with your HG work-order number, installation date, photographs, location of the concern and when you first noticed it. Give HG a reasonable opportunity to inspect and correct covered issues. Do not wait for the inspection or warranty expiration to report a problem.

Your job-specific acceptance records the property, scope, surface condition, proof, materials and applicable warranty category. Keep a copy with these terms. No website form or payment substitutes for that authorization.
